About Phyllis Brandano

Ever since childhood my parents encouraged me to express myself. We shared conversations, songs and readings we found special or illuminating. These times brought closeness and joy into our lives that I will never forget.

Growing up New England, it wasn’t long before I started writing and capturing images around me. When I became a teacher, I traveled extensively sharing thoughts and pictures with my students. I encouraged them to write about themselves and their families and develop a love for using words. Many parents noticed the growth in their children and rewarded me with letters and notes of their own.

When I became an administrator, I used words to help teachers and families come together. They learned how journals could help classroom and personal struggles and track children’s behaviors to benefit growth.

Regardless of where you find yourself, writing can play a part in clarifying, shaping and expressing what you’re feeling in a healthy and satisfying way.

It’s never too late….
